The Marantz PMD660 is a compact bodied, full-scale digital recorder. It is designed entirely for professionals and includes and XLR microphone input with phantom power and up to 20dB attenuation.

This solid state recorder can record audio files to affordable and widely available Microdrives or CompactFlash cards with just the flip of a switch. Features include non-stop recording with 4 hours of battery life, and an EDL marking system for creating new files on-the-fly during recording for easy file selection during playback.

The Blackbox Recorder range has been designed to be very simple to operate. Plugging into any standard live mixing console via the normal insert points, it allows for the capture of the performance and recording of the sound check to help set the foldback mixes and allow the performers to hear the live mix for themselves.

It provides 24 tracks of audio recording directly onto a removable USB2 disk drive that can be immediately plugged into a Digital Audio Workstation after a gig. Having plugged the unit into your console, it defaults to having all tracks armed and ready to record. For really large multi-track recordings, multiple units can be chained together and operated from a single control surface.
