A little bit about...Optima Series Line Array
Optima array will grow into a family of three state of the art second generation array modules. The large format Optima 12 will combine two 12" bass drivers with four 6.5" mid/bass drivers and three 4" planar wave drivers in a dipolar configuration. With a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz the three-way active cabinet will offer maximum directivity of 90° x 5° with angle selection in 1° increments. The cabinet will be designed to be used as a system with the complimentary Optima SB218 sub/bass cabinet to extend system response to 40 Hz. The Optima SB218 can be ground stacked, flown as a side hang and will also form the basis of an Optima 12 ground stack. The enclosure combines two neodymium, long excursion 18" cone drivers in a double vented band pass enclosure for optimised response over the 40 - 95 Hz frequency band. The Optima 12 is planned for release in Q3 2013.
The medium format Optima 8 array module offers a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz with 110° x 10° maximum directivity; angle selection is in 1° increments. The dipolar driver configuration benefits from two 8" neodymium transducers combined with two 4" planar wave guides driven in a bi-amp configuration. The Optima B215 is a companion bass cabinet that can act as the basis of a groundstack or be flown above an array. The B215 features two long excursion 15" neodymium drivers loading in a double vented band pass enclosure. The Optima SB218 is also an integral part of the Optima 8 system either in the form of a ground stack or alternatively as a flown side hang. Both SB218 and B215 are co-tuned to improve system integration and when used in multiples of three can be arranged in a cardioid mode. Optima 8 can also be used as a down-fill module under a hang of Optima 12.
The baby of the family is the Optima 5 which combines two 5" cone drivers with a single 4" planar wave. The ultracompact array box offers frequency response of 105 Hz to 20 kHz with maximum directivity of 110° x 15°; angle selection is in 2.5° increments. The Optima B210 offers bass extension to the Optima 5 within A/V applications and with a fully integrated fly system can be flown above a drop of Optima 5 or used as the basis of a ground stack. The Optima 5 Crossbow frame allows Optima 5 to be pole mounted, truss mounted or flown, while also acting as a fly frame for the Optima B210. For live sound applications it is recommended that the Optima 5 is combined with the reFlex B215, while the reFlex SB118 can also be added to systems where more low extension is required. Extending its functionality further the Optima 5 can also be used as a down fill module under a hang of Optima 8.
