Audio X has invested in a new Midas PRO6 from LMC Audio Systems Ltd.
Kicking off 2010 by heading to the Old Fire Station in Bristol, Audio X provided sound and backline for the E4 “Skins House” event, taking their new PRO6 with them.
Based in Bristol, Audio X are a PA hire company specialising in high quality audio, having provided sound for Creamfields, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Groove Armada Live, and 2 Many DJs Live.

Dan Deeks, Managing Director at Audio X, explains, “While we were initially investigating digital consoles, Jeff Woodford at LMC recommended the PRO6 to us and we were instantly impressed. The quality factor associated with the Midas name is difficult to ignore – plus the fact that every engineer to use it has given it glowing reviews! Compared with the analogue desks we’ve tried, we found that the overall sound is in fact better. To put it into perspective, the engineer for the Skins gig originally said ‘no to any digital desks’ as he didn’t believe the sound quality could be matched. As soon as he had tried the PRO6 his opinion immediately changed, and the fact that it was a Midas board meant he could trust it.”

Following the Skins event, a number of the bands involved showed a keen interest in the desk and as a result Dan has secured several gigs off the back of the tour. He says, “We have received very positive feedback on the desk, and its reputation just keeps improving. The desk is incredibly accessible, very rider-friendly and has delivered great reliability for all users; all-round, a great board!” He continues, “We have always found LMC to be very helpful, providing a straight-forward, punctual service. Jeff, who advised us from start to finish on the desk, offers great service and with a background in the business as a pro-user already, he can give an honest, personal opinion on the desk, amp or whatever other Pro Audio equipment I need advice on!”
